“Into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Psalm 31:5 & Luke 23:46

Living a life of faith goes well beyond feelings, it’s about surrendering to God’s will. So often when Jesus spoke at critical times during His time on earth He would quote scripture, for scripture is God’s word, and the foundation upon which we build our faith. In His final breath on the Cross, Jesus, in Luke 23:46, was quoting Psalm 31:5, which says, “Into Your hands I commit My spirit” In these few words Jesus verbally declared that

God Alone Is The Final Authority.

No matter what circumstances we find ourselves in, God is the final word. He formed us, He created us and all that we see. If this were not enough He also loves us beyond our comprehension which He demonstrated in the life of His son Jesus. The same Jesus who on the cross taught us one more valuable lesson, surrendering to God’s will. Whatever you have for me today, Lord, I am yours.
