“For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He knows your trudging through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.” Deuteronomy 2:7

Wandering the fully stocked aisles of our local grocery store today a thought occurred to me. What would it take to feed 2 million people every day? What would it take to do that for 40 years? The shelves I was looking at around me would not come close to handling even one day’s provision, let alone a week or a month. Think of feeding a city the size of San Diego every day for 40 years! Now throw in the added inconvenience of being in the wilderness! Yet, the children of Israel never lacked water and never lacked food.

God Provided Every Day!

A few weeks ago in this blog we were reminded that Jesus said, “Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing. look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you of not of more value than they?” Understand that God has no limitations and no lack of resources. Combine that with the fact that He loves you and cares about your needs and you have very little reason to worry, and a powerful reason to reach out to Him in prayer!
