On this Memorial Day we take time to remember those who have gave what Abraham Lincoln referred to as “the last full measure of devotion” in the cause of freedom for this nation. Unfortunately, conflict is nothing new, for throughout history wars have been a plague on mankind with far too many sacrificing all they had to give. We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. Their courage should truly feed our courage, for as Winston Churchill said,
Wars Are Not Won By Evacuations
This is especially true in Faith. When faced with the challenges of our day to day life, retreat is never an option, especially knowing that our God has promised to go before us. 1 John 5:4 likely says it best, saying, “For whosoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world.
